Synopsis

Culturas do Eu pretende ser um espaço de análise de práticas culturais e dos seus dispositivos. Práticas culturais que tenham por finalidade a construção do lugar de sujeito e do lugar de onde esse sujeito se assume enquanto tal. Falar de sujeito é, desde logo, nomear uma instância discursiva, aquele de quem se fala. Mas, focalizada na 1ª pessoa, ela torna-se a instância a partir da qual se fala. Daí que o sujeito enquanto eu deva ser perspectivado nas diferentes formações discursivas nas quais se inscreve. A questão da subjectividade aqui colocada não visa justificar a existência de um sujeito pleno, um sujeito da vontade mas, antes, entender o quanto de aleatoriedade e de contingência perpassa no/pelo sujeito ao longo da sua existência.

Author Biography

Maria Augusta Babo, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, ICNOVA, Portugal

PhD in Semiotics and Aggregated Professor in Theory of Culture, she is an Associated Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa until 2021. She is an integrated researcher at the Communication Institute of Nova ICNOVA, which replaces the Center for Studies in Communication and Languages - CECL - of which she was President from 2014 until 2019. Founder, with Jorge Lozano, of the Iberian Semiotics Association, of which she is co-president, she was also director of the Communication and Languages Magazine – RCL - CECL / Relógio d'Água, between 1999 and 2006. She currently participates in national and international congresses in her research areas: Semiotics, Theory of Writing and the processes of subjectivation, and publishes academic articles in national and international magazines, book chapters or books of which she is the author or co-author. In 2018 she wins the CNC Prize: «An idea to change the world» and come to ONU to present this idea.
