A caminho de novos portos: o piano de Jorge Peixinho no intercâmbio musical entre Brasil e Portugal (1970-1990)

In examining the pianistic literature of Jorge Peixinho, cultivated by the composer’s dialogue with his epoch and his surroundings, this book seeks a better understanding of the role his music played in the development of an exchange between Portugal and the vanguard of Brazilian musical movements from 1970 to 1994. Peixinho was a major participant and programmer in the principal festivals both in Brazil and those of other Latin American countries and many of his compositions for piano served as mediators between the composer’s ideas and that new (old) world audience.
