O órgão em Portugal no final do Antigo Regime: a obra de Frei José Marques e Silva (1782-1837) e os instrumentos do seu tempo
Synopsis
This book contributes to knowledge about the life and work of Friar José Marques e Silva, but above all, it sheds light on the character of Portuguese organ building at the end of the Ancien Régime. It is the result of João Vaz's doctoral thesis, in which he explores the theme of organ music in Portugal at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, as well as the relationship between the instruments built during that period and the performance of this repertoire.
