Diplomatário da Sé de Viseu (1028-1278)

Medievalists from Viseu and medievalists in general can appreciate a correct and rigorous job of editing sources, with spatial coherence, given by their common archival origin. In fact, these are documents "produced" by the same institution - the Cathedral of Viseu - to serve as an administrative instrument for its goods and relating to a chronological period between 1078 and 1278.

This coherent and sufficiently wide-ranging set of documents has enabled the authors to advance some serial treatments (lists of bishops, ecclesiastical dignities, notaries, property acquisitions by the Chapter, etc.) and to present detailed and complete tables and charts, as well as the identification of place names, which facilitate the use of the information contained in the volume, saving any researcher a great deal of work.

The book was published jointly with the Center for the History of Society and Culture and the Coimbra University Press.
